The Badcore Collective

The Badcore Collective is a combination of the popular Plymouth-based project The Badcore Horns, with Dan Hillman on Saxophone and Simon Dobson on Trumpet, augmented by the powerhouse rhythm section of long-running Plymouth Jazz jam session, The Sunday Sermon, featuring Martin Jenkins on Organ/Keyboards, Jim Rintoul on Electric Bass, Gary Evans on Drums and Neil Burns on Guitar.

The Sermon has long been established as a great place for musicians of all levels and experience to come and try out new tunes and ideas and Badcore’s Dan Hillman and Simon Dobson have been regular Jammers at The Sermon over the years .

Dan and Simon both enjoy eclectic and exciting careers as musicians. Dan has recorded as a session musician on over 20 albums with Pop, Funk and Hip Hop bands. He and Simon were founding members of popular Funky Hip Hop band Freshly Squeezed. Simon is highly-regarded in the contemporary classical music world as a composer and conductor, and has conducted and composed for many leading orchestras which sees him regularly fly all over the world. He has won multiple classical music awards, in particular for his brass writing.
