Ace songwriter Theo Bard plays a very special preview of new songs which will feature on his upcoming album, alongside his full band! Support comes from ace Ukrainian singer-songwriter Maria Mihailik.
A Londoner through and through, artist and live music obsessive Theo Bard has become more devoted than ever to the noble art of songwriting. Through trancelike acoustic guitar patterns, a vocal that's at once raw and full-bodied, and lyrics that balance the personal with poetry, there is something relatable about his songwriting which grabs listeners wherever he goes. His music has featured across BBC Radio, on Italian TV, and he has written with major label artists.
Becoming a father in 2024 brought a new wave of passion to Theo's yen, and a return to the very root of his music - the appreciation of connection and beauty, spoken through live instruments alone. He is now ready to share a set of songs sung 'at the bottom of his voice', lullabies to a sleeping newborn that go to the root of human origin.
His band tonight features:
Kaidi Akinnibi - Saxophone
Matt Webb - Bass
Tom Potter - Drums
"Multi-talented " - The Line of Best Fit
"A distinct and personal expression by way of glistening, crystalline compositions." - London in Stereo
"A hauntingly beautiful melody, every second of which is full of purpose and intent." - Earmilk
In support, born in Ukraine and currently living in South East London, Maria Mihailik is a young singer-songwriter inspired by an eclectic mix of songwriters from Bob Dylan to Paul Simon, Fiona Apple and Amy Winehouse. She blends folk styles and contemporary themes in a confessional, intimate way. Her self-titled album with Folklore Records is slated for release in in early 2026.
"Maria's songwriting and vocal is both distinctive and timeless, she, quite literally, turns heads as soon as she starts to play" - Toria Wooff
"Maria's music and storytelling are powerful — raw, honest, and deeply emotional. I could listen to her beautiful serenades all night" - Juni Habel
