A double bill at The Oxted Sessions, as we welcome Sorrel Nation for the first time, alongside returning favourite Sarah Jane Scouten.
Sorrel Nation
Travelling troubadour Sorrel Nation brings a soulful mix of folk-rock to country and engages audiences with emotive lyrics, 70s inspired style and a voice full of soul that can truly open the heart. 2024 saw the release of her critically acclaimed debut studio album ‘Lost En Route’ in October, alongside performances at Black Deer, Isle of Wight and Cambridge Folk Festivals among others.
2025 has proved to be no different as Sorrel embarked on three tours and exciting festival appearances to promote her debut album and its release on vinyl in March 2025. The end of September 202, saw a release of a live EP ‘Live and Acoustic’ that was recorded whilst Sorrel travelled up to Scotland earlier in the year.
And yes…Sorrel Nation is her real name.
Sarah Jane Scouten
“An agile voice, ruminative songwriting, and love for classic country, indie pop, and everything in between.” - American Songwriter
Sarah Jane Scouten is a Canadian-born folk and Americana songwriter, paying respects to 60s and 70s country songwriters Willie Nelson, John Prine, Bobby Gentry. A four time Canadian Folk Music Award nominee, her music weaves in British folk revival elements with a continuous thread leading back to her roots in bluegrass and old time music. After a transformative four years, training as a herbalist in southwest Scotland, Sarah Jane released her fifth album in 2023, the glorious 'Turned to Gold'. This is her third visit to The Oxted Sessions.
