With its soaring top line and hypnotic rhythm, the track defined an era and established her as a pioneering voice in British reggae.

Carroll Thompson brought a soulful intimacy to Lovers Rock through her unmistakable tone and deeply expressive songwriting. Her debut album, featuring enduring classics such as “I’m So Sorry” and “Hopelessly in Love”, sold over a million copies and was recently named The Greatest Lovers Rock Album of All Time by Mojo Magazine. Blending gentle grooves with lyrical depth, her work shaped the sound of a generation.
