MOMS – Maldon Original Music Sessions:
MOMS champions grassroots music in Maldon, giving original bands a stage to shine. It’s a platform to build followings, share stories, and sell music directly to fans. Authentic, vibrant, and community‑driven, MOMS is where fresh talent meets audiences hungry for something real.

WE ARE THE STOREYS
The Storeys are bound together like a well-practised fisherman’s knot. Friendship first – a shared passion for melody driven music a very close second.
A perfect perch by Rutland Water doesn’t stop Pete joining John and Ian for gigs in Essex and song writing and jamming sessions on the sunny Suffolk Coast; where the bucolic setting quite often inspires their best work.
With their music collections reflecting eclectic tastes; the Storeys’ own sounds - often written with acoustic performance in mind; reveal influences that range from The Beatles, Crowded House and Squeeze – through darker, more reflective artists such as Elliot Smith, and The National.
Rather than aspire to be yet another ‘covers band’, The Storeys have always wanted to play their own songs live. With a strong local following in Essex, they now have a set that works well with the discerning music fan. However, they also have enough songs with strong hooks and memorable choruses, that appeal to those whose hands and feet like to be gainfully employed at a gig….”

The Mighty Bosscats are a dynamic blues and Americana band led by songwriter and guitarist Richard Townend. Renowned for their storytelling and musicianship, the band has released 17 highly acclaimed albums since 2007, each showcasing a distinctive blend of soulful grooves, heartfelt lyrics, and finely crafted arrangements. Their catalogue reflects both breadth and depth, moving seamlessly from smoky ballads to driving blues rock, earning praise from audiences and critics alike.
Based in Essex, the line‑up features Richard Townend on guitar and vocals, Matt Gillam on bass and vocals, and Mark Hall on drums. Together they create a rich, textured sound that resonates with authenticity and passion. Townend’s songwriting often explores themes of compassion, resilience, and social awareness, giving the music a powerful emotional core.
The Mighty Bosscats have toured widely, from grassroots venues to festival stages, and continue to champion original music with energy and conviction. Whether headlining a festival or playing a local club, their performances are marked by warmth, wit, and sheer musical craft. Expect a night of compelling stories, finely honed songs, and a band at the peak of its creative powers.
