A saturnalia of three-part harmony from family trio WHO OWNS THE SNOW, celebrating the release of the eponymous debut album. The group is built on a unique creative chemistry: daughter Loretta Rest (voice, cello, guitar, keyboards) performs alongside her mother, seasoned British singer-songwriter Rosie Brown, and her father, Austrian-born guitarist and composer Bernd Rest. The trio entwine voices and musical energies, creating a sound that feels both tenderly fragile and solidly unshakable. Written in turn by all members, the songs – with Rosie and Loretta sharing the front-woman role – reflect on nature in all its fragility, love and the bittersweet, and subtly capture our time’s sense of foreboding.
Loretta Rest – voice, guitar, cello, baritone guitar, keyboards
Bernd Rest – voice, guitar, baritone guitar
Rosie Brown – voice, keyboards
Plus guest musicians from the album:
Elliott Vickers – drums
Joe Snelling – double bass
Kaya de Sousa – alto flute
Support from the wonderful BEE & JACKRABBIT, a Brighton-based chamber pop band who combine elements of folk, punk, indie and pop. This gig will be a duo performance from Piper Murray (guitar and vocals) and Robin Squirrel (cello and vocals): expect layered harmonies, intricate arrangements and powerful melodies alongside sharp, witty and observant lyrics.
