Distinguished british artist and ‘original folk voice’ Ruth Theodore has been steadily releasing critically acclaimed studio albums for over a decade. About to embark on another USA tour, this time playing theatres across the pacific north west, with the legendary Dar Williams, Ruth is performing THIS ONE OFF SHOW in the UK to warm up before she gets on the road.

Having started her career as a street busker on Englands south coast, Ruth is now signed to Ani DiFranco's Righteous Babe records based in the USA, and sharing labels, stages and studios with iconic international artists, as a performer, writer and recently co-producer, making her critically acclaimed music alongside long term collaborators; Tony and Grammy award winning producer and bassist Todd Sickafoose, and Swiss-American virtuoso percussionist Mathias Kunzli.

Ruth’s music is inspired by lived experience which makes her a folk singer in essense, but there’s a strong sense of playful rebellion in her delivery that embodies hints of 1920s vauderville theatre, buckets of indie punk rock attitude and the relentless lyrical energy of a beat poet.
