Wingerworth Comedy Club is back with three more amazing comedians right here on your doorstep, all presented by your (local resident...) resident MC Carl Jones!
Don’t miss out - these tickets sell very quickly every time and we’re strictly limited on capacity so book early to avoid disappointment.
HEADLINE ACT: NICK PAGE
With some comics there’s a moment where you ask yourself ‘I wonder how much of this is true?’, with Nick Page you might hope it isn’t true, but somehow know that it is, mostly. His shows are full to bursting with stories from a life lived on the edge of (self inflicted) disaster.
In his shows there are no songs, props or padding, just stories packed with jokes from start to finish.
In the last few years he has won the prestigious title ‘English Comedian of the Year’, performed at comedy festivals in 3 continents and been awarded the Operational Service Medal by the British army for numerous gigs in warzones, doing everything from shows in Camp Bastion and Kandahar for 5000 troops at a time, to being helicoptered to perform for 20 soldiers in a patrol base in the desert.
He’s reached the live finals of Britain’s Got Talent despite having never watched the show. A typical week in the UK might see performances in pubs and theatres before a weekend run at a comedy club. Between cruises and expat bookings he’s now performed in over half the world’s countries - and now he's coming to Wingerworth!
‘A bear like man with a host of barely believable stories about life, love and brushes with the law’ - The Guardian
SUPPORT FROM:
MICK FERRY
In the spring of 1997 Mick set foot on stage for the very first time at the legendary Frog and Bucket. It has led to a career that has seen him perform all around the world. He is one of the most sought after comperes and headliners in the UK and writes regularly for some of the biggest names in stand up comedy and he has appeared on many tv shows.
Completely at ease with any audience, Mick has an effortless ability to pluck material from thin air.
KEVIN DANIEL
Kevin Daniel is a high-energy stand-up with a fast pace, sharp punchlines, and a seriously infectious stage presence. Known for his clever observations and effortlessly likeable style, he’s a favourite on the UK comedy circuit, delivering big laughs and crowd-pleasing sets wherever he goes. Whether he’s talking everyday chaos or unexpected twists on modern life, Kevin knows how to keep an audience hooked.
...and your host, CARL JONES.
Blending a mix of hilarious storytelling with warm and quick-witted audience interactions, the award-winning host of hit podcast When Football Began Again is sure to enhance any lineup.
“Very funny…a breezily entertaining half-hour from a likeable comic.” – Chortle
FAQS
WILL YOU BE SERVING ALCOHOL?
We are hopeful to be able to serve alcohol at this event. However, as has been tradition from our very first show, you’re still welcome to bring your own and we will definitely have some light refreshments available on the night for a small fee.
CAN I BRING CHILDREN?
The minimum age for this event is 15. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Please bear in mind that the comedians will be using strong language and adult themes throughout.
I DON’T WANT TO PAY A BOOKING FEE - CAN I GET TICKETS OFFLINE?
Yes! The team at The Barley Mow are supporting this event and you can buy tickets from behind the bar while stocks last. Please do hang around for a drink and/or food and help us support our local pub through this event.
WHAT TIME WILL THE NIGHT FINISH?
We anticipate our headline act will be finishing around 10.15pm, when we’ll be encouraging everyone to head to the Barley Mow for last orders!
I’VE SEEN BABY REINDEER - CAN I CHAT DURING THE ACTS, HECKLE, BREAK INTO SONG OR FOLLOW ANY OF THE ACTS HOME?
Please don’t! Wingerworth isn’t really on the comedy map (yet…) and all of our acts are trusting us that it’s going to be a fabulous audience. So bring your laughing gear and let’s have another great night. Our (local resident…) resident MC Carl is unable to hang anyone’s curtains.
IS THERE RESERVED SEATING?
All our seating is unreserved. The front row isn’t as daunting a place as people think, but if you do turn up late then we can’t promise that won’t be the only seats left…
WHERE CAN I PARK?
The venue has very limited parking so we’d encourage walking or being dropped off wherever possible. The Barley Mow have kindly offered their car park as an overflow so why not park your car there and have a drink before joining us? #supportyourlocalpub
WHERE CAN I EAT/DRINK BEFORE THE SHOW?
Our friends at the Barley Mow are running food and drink offers on the night! Just mention you’re heading to the show to claim these offers (and to ensure you’re in the venue by 7.30!)
8oz Sirloin Steak and a drink - £22.50
Steak or vegan burger - £13.95
Full rack of BBQ ribs - £25.95
Bottle of prosecco £16.95
Cask ale £4.50 pt
