Join Jak for this 10-week course which will help you to tune into your physical body and promote the mind-body connection using breath work, meditation and relaxation techniques. Jak will focus on building strength and flexibility in a gentle, supportive way, whilst bringing in Ancient yogic practices such as Pranayama (breath work) to bring awareness to the breath and allow the mind to come to stillness
The sessions will allow for progression, promoting strength and flexibility using a supportive, ‘staged’ approach to postures. You will work within your own range of movement, and Jak will provide appropriate challenge and modifications for you individually.
The yoga is fully inclusive for all, suitable for those wishing to improve their general health and well-being, particularly their connection between their body and their mind.
Jak threads light yoga philosophy throughout the sessions, with the aim to promote balance and a sense of presence and purpose, to be applied both on your mat and as you go about your day to day lives.
About Jak
Jak is British Wheel of Yoga trained (300hr certificate), which I completed back in Spring 2021. She has run classes in the local community in the past, both at the youth centre and Wootton village hall. Her style is Hatha yoga, and as her teaching style is moving into a therapeutic approach.
Jak is committed to teaching yoga in a safe, therapeutic way which is inclusive and accessible to all.
She believes that yoga should be worked around the individual; there should not be the need to adapt to fit into a specific practice. She will help you to develop it around you. We all come with our own abilities and limitations, so Jak invites you to have freedom to explore in poses, using your own intuition and creativity.
