A fairy‑tale courtroom-based panto/cabaret where kids cheer, parents laugh,
and everyone gets to be Jury!
This is a ‘by the community, for the community’ production, with a cast drawn
from open auditions—local people of all ages, shapes, and kinds. It’s
community theatre at its most joyful, mischievous, and inclusive. Perfect for
grownups and children alike, it’s a chance to laugh, cheer, and celebrate the
magic of storytelling together.
Inspired by the famous Grimm Folk Tales, this brandnew family-friendly
production is set in ‘The Walfordstow Court of Popular Opinion’. Here, we’ll
meet the nasty baddies, yucky mummies and dreadful daddies who’ll finally
face the music as Judges bang glittery gavels in a courtroom where the
audience plays Jury - and the villains get their ‘just desserts’.
In this colourfully re-imagined tale of modern retribution, WYSIWYG the Witch
returns to meet her melodramatic match in Snow’s evil Stepmum, Queen
Brunhilde White. Hansel and Gretel face charges of criminal damage - and we
meet the (highly entitled) Prince Chaz of Chington; a feisty fairytale Princess; a
glitchy Magic Mirror and the hilariously horrid Dame Honeybum. RAPunzel and
Little Red prove the power of friendship - and the larger-than-life Lady Ya-Ya
alongside her fabulous French friend, Annie D'Poo, also make dramatic
entrances!
As tradition dictates, you can expect the lederhosen-loving Grimm brothers,
Jacob and Willhelm to look down on proceedings with their traditional disdain
for modernity.
Will the baddies be banged to rights? Well, that’s for YOU to decide!
With original script and song lyrics by NODA Awardwinning local writer Other
Theresa and luminous tunes arranged and performed by Jane Morgan, live on
the baby grand piano, this is a show you won’t want to miss!
