Diana (pronounced Dee-ana) Silveira (pronounced Sil-vere-a) is a Portuguese rock/blues/soul singer who gained national recognition under the name Diana Piedade as the runner-up in the third season of the TV talent show 'Ídolos', the Portuguese adaptation of the Pop Idol franchise. This TV and subsequent media exposure led to her gaining something of an international profile, as well as her own Rock On Diana tour, performing across multiple locations in mainland Portugal and associated islands
However the 'Idol' experience also attracted unwelcome press attention, 'celebrity' and, at times, controversy. So much so that Diana made a conscious decision to change her name and withdraw from public view, deleting her entire social media account in the process which, at that time, had made her the most followed artist in Portugal.
A performer since childhood, Diana returned to, for her, a more comfortable 'under the radar' status as a working vocalist and recording artist, fronting a number of projects, collaborations and bands entirely on her own terms. These activities pre and post Idol had led to her living and working in Paris for a period, appearing at a prestigious Jeff Buckley tribute in NYC, and moving to the UK in 2019 where she quickly attracted interest from the British Blues/rock community. A performance in a jam session at the prestigious Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival in Colne drew the attention of musicians and agencies, opening up significant opportunities.
UK interest was further enhanced when in February 2020, Diana participated in the Masterlink Sessions, organized by producer Stefan Redtenbacher. Diana and Stefan co-wrote a song "Money Ain't No Truth" featuring musicians such as Tony Remy (Herbie Hancock), Joe Glossop (Tom Jones), Mike Sturgis (Lou Reed, David Bowie, Elton John), amongst other prominent performers, and the song premiered on the world's biggest 'soul music' resource, SoulTracks.com, based in the USA.

All of which led to DIana attracting the attention of BiGiAM Management who lined up a significant number of venue and Festival appearances for 2020 and 2021 only for the pandemic to close those opportunities down, with Diana returning home to Portugal.
In recent years DIana, ever the free spirited 'gypsy', has shared her time between Canada and Portugal but in July she will be returning to these shores to perform a short tour with a top class band including Dave Ital (Beyonce, Chaka Khan etc) on guitar, Stevie Watts (Stevie Winwood etc) on keys with Sonny Winslow (bass) and Martin Johnson (drums).
Such is her vocal versatility that she has recently been touring - and doing a feature duet - with Spanish superstar Enrique Iglesias, the biggest selling Spanish language artist of the decade. However, DIana's primary musical influences include artists such as Led Zeppelin, Tina Turner and Jeff Buckley, which is mirrored somewhat in her own live act.
