Event information

Delighted to be hosting this Oxford show with the mighty Self Torque - touring their upcoming debut album no less! - and the brilliant Jay Cavalier and the Band! The two are headed out on the road together for a killer weekender, and we're providing the filling of this weekend sandwich with a sweaty basement show at The Library.

Self Torque's debut album ‘A Brutal Nadir’ is set for release 30th January 2026 via Brighton indie Sugar-Free Records. The band emerged onto the Brighton DIY punk scene out of the ashes of various bands Gabriel had been a part of. The trio of musicians assembled for the project (completed by Luke Ellis on drums and Jay Cross on bass) are battle-hardened punk scene fixtures so it’s no surprise that Self Torque are already making a name for themselves with their supremely locked-in live shows.

Jay Cavalier and the Band (aka Jay Cavalier Band) are an England-based "bedroom stadium rock" group, comprised of the absolute best musicians that band leader Jay Cavalier could persuade. Musically they've been compared to Billy Bragg, Bruce Springsteen, and Tom Petty. Project co-writer and self-appointed "scene legend" Nathy SG says JCB is "A welcome addition to the Nathan Stephens-Griffin Extended Universe".

FYI this show is 18+, and the venue is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Any questions about access please let us know at divineschism@gmail.com
