An evening of experimental music and poetry in the warmth and magic of By Our Hands We Make Our Way with:
NADEEM DIN-GABISI
Nadeem Din-Gabisi is an award-winning lyricist, musician, visual artist and filmmaker. Born in London to Sierra-Leonian parents, Nadeem’s work wrestles with notions of identity, displacement, trauma and struggle. Having initially established himself as a lyricist as part of the heralded Steam Down collective, he has since gone on to collaborate with artists including Zambian hip-hop innovator Sampa The Great and Metronomy. In recent years, Nadeem has cemented his unique voice as one of the most thought-provoking, idiosyncratic new artists to emerge from the UK. Nadeem’s excellent album OFFSHORE – which showcases his poetic storytelling, magnetic delivery and diverse sonic experimentalism – was released on Moshi Moshi Records in August 2025. It was rightly named as one of The Quietus’ Albums of the Year. We couldn’t be happier that Nadeem will be performing at By Our Hands We Make Our Way.

DAPHNELLC
Incorporating found sounds, field recordings and danceable noise, artist and producer Daphnellc writes and performs techno, musique concrète, drone and ambient noise. An artist with a strong DIY track record, Daphnellc is founder of the noise/ambient/techno cassette label, Larry Crywater, and has been supported by Sound UK’s Sound Generator artist development programmme. Daphnellc uses hardware to make ethereal, mechanical music of the heart, brain and soul. For this show, they will debut a new experimental/ambient set. Expect magic.

SAD EYES
Filmmaker, musician and nervous karaoke artist Dan Shutt – aka Sad Eyes – makes wonky pop music that is artful, odd, experimental and brilliant. Over the years Sad Eyes has performed at various Hello Thor shows – once in a tent, once dressed as a samurai, once showcasing an impressive collection of Albanian flutes – and they have always been unique and memorable occasions.

HAZEL WARREN
Hazel is a ukelele-wielding poet who has performed in fields, on stages, in basements, caves, pubs, libraries, a beer shop, a book shop and once on a bus. Hazel is a member of Nottingham-based collectives DIY poets and Paper Crane Poets. Her debut collection, To See The Moon, was published by Big White Shed. Hazel’s performances are full of warmth and humour, her words fizz with power.
