Emerging fully formed into the creative hotbed of the young London scene, Glebe is a quintet led by two outstanding young player/composers - guitarist Kieran Gunter and multi-keyboard player Chris Bland.
Their debut album Gaudí showcases everything that makes the project unique, as a real band with its own clear identity, standing out from the contemporary scene both with its accessibility and with its originality. Packed full of memorable melodies and dynamic virtuoso performances, the album shows how Glebe has all the strengths of a true collaboration, drawing on a shared vision that always amounts to more than the sum of its parts.
Diverse influences include contemporary jazz, Brazilian music, folk, and sophisticated pop as well as the classic guitar/keyboard bands like the Pat Metheny Group and The Impossible Gentlemen. Gaudí shows throughout that Glebe has already established its own strong personality. Glebe recorded a second album in 2025 that is due for release in 2026. This album will see them stretch themselves further with influences from the Brecker Brothers, Avishai Cohen and Satie.
For both Chris and Kieran, Glebe is a vehicle to express their shared musical vision as well as their individual inspirations. “It’s meant to be contemporary but romantic, fun for the players but reaching out directly to audiences. Each track tells a story, so there’s something there for everyone to listen to and be absorbed by” says Kieran. “We love music to be melody driven but sophisticated as well” agrees Chris. “It’s all about the energy”.
