Event information
A very special evening concert with City of London Symphonic Winds, celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the group’s founding. The programme will include two seminal works for modern symphonic band played at CLSW’s very first performance in 2006: Holst‘s First Suite in E-Flat, and Hindemith’s Symphony in B-Flat. Another piece making a welcome return is the exhilarating jazz-influenced Blue Shades (Ticheli). The group will also perform several pieces for the first time in its history, including Hunter’s Moon (Vinter) with horn soloist Emily Gorlin, Celebration (Sparke), Rocky Point Holiday (Nelson) and Adagio from Cinnamon Grove (Dett).
CLSW will be conducted by current musical director Alan Duguid, with the group’s previous long-term director David Smith making a guest appearance.
