Welcome to our first event of 2026 at Eastbourne's Grove Theatre.
We will be hosting monthly events here, and invite you to experience the first of many totally nuts line-ups.
The Defamation Project
Eastbourne's favourite father-and-son avant-metal duo, The Defamation Project, expands its family band by letting the kid they locked in the attic out for his full show debut on bass duties.
The trio will serve you Slayer-esque Death, with tongue-in-cheek absurdity, avant-garde improvs and ridiculous skronk.
Brothers Bula
What can we say about our 2nd Family band of the evening? Brothers Bula performed at the first-ever Minds Eye event- and truth be told, they're still in our top 3 batshit crazy performances we've hosted to date. With their newly released album Personal Ramekin doing the rounds, we can't say we have the foggiest what they'll play on the night- but we guarantee it will be anything but boring as they free Jazz their way out of a Frey Bentos Pie tin (if you know you know...and if you dont know? you may just find out on the night.)
Lastly, please welcome our guests from Switzerland, Vava Maudit.
Gabriel Valtchev: drums, electronics, voice
Alex Riva: recorders, fx, voice
Since 2022, Vava Maudit has developed a raw and haunting sound, with Gabriel Valtchev on drums and Alex Riva on recorders.
Gabriel Valtchev plays a wide range of styles, from traditional music of the Balkans to Grind Core, each in his own style. On different sizes of the recorder, Alex Riva transforms its sound and catapults it into new, unsettling spheres.
