Come and join us for a unique double bill - as a vital new documentary goes back-to-back with a live acoustic performance by Vic Ruggiero!
2025 saw a major upheaval in Nepal, as the existing government was toppled in a series of protests and revolts dubbed the 'Gen Z revolution'. It was also marked by tragic and brutal state violence, as at least 76 protestors were killed by government forces during the chaos.
'Nepal Burning', a documentary by filmmaker Niraj Lamgade, goes to the heart of the uprising and its aftermath, capturing raw footage at street level, perspective on Nepal's history leading up to this pivotal moment, and interviews with key figures who took part in the revolution.
Join us for a screening of this vital documentary, plus discussion with the film's director, Niraj Lamgade.
And before the film, Vic Ruggiero will be playing acoustic tunes in the bookshop!
Vic has a long and storied history in the NYC music scene and far beyond, having played with bands such as Rancid, The Slackers and many more.
He'll be bringing his unique blend of blues, folk, punk, ska and literary influences to the Curio vault for your enjoyment - so get down early and don't miss out!
