No one can promise to make writing easy, but there is a way to bypass the disapproving, hyper-critical part of the brain that gets in the way when we write.
Free-writing won't be a good fit for everyone--nothing is--but if you're just starting, if you're wrestling with writers block, if you're looking for a way to go deeper or take a bigger risk, this might be what you're looking for.
Bring paper–yes, please, paper–and pen.
Ellen Hawley is the author of five novels, including 'A Decent World' and 'Other People Manage', from Swift Press. She lives in North Cornwall.
