Emma Jackson is a saxophonist, bandleader and composer currently in her 4th year at trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Taking inspiration from the pioneers of the Hard-Bop Tradition, Emma writes music following in this musical lineage, the Great American Songbook, her childhood growing up in Bristol and her life in London. She is developing a distinctive voice in both her improvising and composing while under the mentorship of Jean Toussaint, Rachel Cohen, Tony Kofi and Deschanel Gordon. This exciting new quartet will be playing their debut gig and will be exploring a range of tunes by artists such as Joe Henderson, Benny Golson and cedar Walton as well as playing some original music.
