You want indie? We got indie! Three amazing bands for the price of three as Club Precious returns to the Waiting Room.
A potent mix schrammelig post-punk and indiepop, Jetstream Pony are leading lights of the UK indie scene featuring an array of well-known faces, including Beth Arzy (The Luxembourg Signal/Trembling Blue Stars) and Shaun Charman (The Wedding Present/The Popguns). On temporary loan from Spinout Nuggets (home of highly acclaimed second album Bowerbirds and Blue Things), they recently released their Riley & Coe session on ten-inch on Precious Recordings of London. It is nearly sold out. (And no, we don’t know what ‘schrammelig’ means either; they told us to say it.)
Down from Hartlepool for an all-too-rare appearance in London are the very wonderful Mt. Misery. Drawing on the harmonies of the West Coast – that’s the West Coast of America and Scotland, naturally – their Byrdsian Fanclub sounds will make you swoon via a glorious of jangletastic songs from a catalogue featuring their most recent album Love In Mind.
Chicago’s Humdrum make melodic indiepop that blends shimmering pop hooks with soft, lovelorn vocals. Wrapped in driving beats and jangly guitars, their music carries nostalgic nods to REM, the Field Mice, the Jesus and Mary Chain and New Order. After teaming up with Slumberland Records in 2024 to release their debut album Every Heaven, Humdrum are making their first visit to the UK.
