The Heathen Kings are a three-piece band from Yorkshire with their feet firmly rooted in British folk and traditional music scene. Performing traditional, borrowed and self-penned songs, their music ranges from high energy celebrations of this dynamic art form with three voices, guitars, bouzouki and electric bass, to intimate unaccompanied singing.

Now in their fifteenth year together, Mark, Rachael and Steve have performed nationally, playing headlining and support slots at some of the most regarded folk clubs and festivals up-and-down the country, plus a handful live radio and television performances. They have recorded three albums and EPs, Good at the Bad Things, Not in Service and Bedlam to Babylon available on all streaming services and now working on their fourth!

Ribble - two Northern men, a fiddle, a guitar, and a large beard. So far, so what?
Well, add in a 90s drum synth, some mighty arrangements of meaty fiddle tunes, some songs, some wrong turns, battle scars earned busking the streets of Salisbury, a barrowload of end-of-the-pier banter and the feeling that your mad rum-soaked uncle is roaring at you to dance on the tables, then you’re getting close to what Ribble is about.

Averaging over 80 gigs a year, these splendid gentlemen have been invited to play Boomtown, Purbeck Folk, Victorious, Rustic Stomp, New Forest Folk, Ferally Good, Wimborne Folkie amongst many other festivals, and have been main support to some serious names on the circuit including Andy Cutting, Mad Dog Mcrea, Man the Lifeboats, Gerry Colvin and many more.

For those of you of a more delicate or sophisticated nature, please rest assured we can reign in our more feral impulses to produce a smooth background sound for your wedding or garden party. A quick perusal of the list of previous dates on our website will show how much experience we have built up across a range of engagements - corporate events, private parties and all aspects of weddings (we behave ourselves whilst playing the bride down the aisle, during the drinks reception we read the room to provide appropriate background music, and of course we tear it up in the evening do)!
