Learn to Sew with Afehia Ijaz

Perfect for complete beginners, this is s relaxed 90 minute workshop that covers all the essentials to get you started. You’ll learn how to thread a sewing machine, wind a bobbin, and practise a few key seams before putting your new skills to use by making a simple finished item of a handy pin cushion or purse to take home. No prior experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to have a go.

This is a 90 minute workshops. no need to bring anything - everything will be provided.
This workshop is a repeat of the workshop at 10am - this is not a follow on session.

This session is suitable for ages 11 plus.
Three things you will gain from attending:
1, Knowledge of sewing machines
2, Confidence to make the machine ready to use
3, Confidence to sew a few seams

How to access Room 2.3
This event is in Room 2.3 which is on the first floor of York House Centre, London Road, Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes.
This room is not accessible for wheelchair users, we do not have a lift (we are a Grade II listed building)
To get to Room 2.3, please use the side door to the right of the Main Hall, once in the building, please turn left and go through the corridor to the stairwell. Go up the stairs to the 1st (middle) floor and through the door facing you. Room 2.3 is ahead on the right.

How to find us and parking:
We have car parking in front of the building (with two disabled spaces), or across the road in the Hawkins Close Car Park.
To get to York House from Galley Hill and Fair Field, you can catch the Number 6 or X6 bus.
