‘The Future is Ancestral solo tour’ - An Intimate Evening with the Kora

Step into an unforgettable evening with Suntou Susso, a captivating singer, performer and master of the kora - the 22-string West African harp whose sounds have enchanted listeners and carried the soul of Mandinka culture for over seven centuries. Born into a revered lineage of Gambian Griots: historians, storytellers and peacekeepers, Suntou is both a guardian of the tradition and a bold innovator of its future. Rooted in the ancient rhythms and spiritual depth of his heritage, Suntou's music is a bridge between worlds.
Following three years of constant touring and creative exploration since the release of his debut album, Suntou has now released his highly anticipated second album, Jaliya Silokang - The Path of a Griot. Audiences can expect original compositions and reimagined traditional pieces, reflecting his evolved and elevated sound, grounded in ancestral wisdom yet alive with contemporary expression.

Touring songs from the latest album, these solo shows are more than performances; they are journeys into heritage, unity, belonging, ecology, and the dreams of ancestors and generations yet to come. His performances radiate humanity and virtuosic artistry.

“He was the master of a magical evening—one of those rare ones that make people remember their better selves.”
— Mayfest in the Woods

“This is a most ambitious and sprawling album that uses its many threads brilliantly and evocatively and will do much to cement Suntou Susso’s reputation as a burgeoning star and virtuoso of the Griot form and the kora"
— Monolith Cocktail

The Brwmys

The Band are often asked 'what is a Brwmys?" Well the truth is, no-one actually knows!...
There are many tales surrounding its origin but the truth is buried deep in the dark depths of time and madness!
What we do know, is the band was founded by Dave Kenwrick and Paul Cottrell in 2010 and has been on quite the journey ever since!

Picking up members like a rolling ball of moss in the woods, the Brwmys has collected upwards of 15 members over the years (once a Brwmys always a Brwmys)

WIth a musical style that merges folk, country, blues, jazz, rock and arabic, it's hard to put the Brwmys in a box! Foot stomping future fusion folk is about as close as it gets (it's not folk yet but might be in the future!).

Brwmys have played most paces in Cardiff and the surrounding areas over the years, alongside many many festivals round the country and lots of special occasions. Brwmys highlights include playing regularly at the beautiful Blue Lagoon Festival, playing big stages at Nozstock and Kate Humble's Humble by Nature, Between the Trees and of course being regulars in Little Folk at Greenman festival.
