The first main club of the year returns to Brickworks on Thursday 5 February as LAUGHS@THELOFT kicks off 2026 in style. Derry’s longest-running comedy room is back with its monthly showcase of the hottest new acts, circuit favourites, local stars and comedy big hitters — and this year marks 17 years of top-tier stand-up in the city.
Headlining this month is Aaron Butler, host of BBC panel show Sound Mate and a regular podcast favourite. Expect sharp observational nonsense, emotional honesty and beautifully questionable logic. Having supported Andrew Ryan, Colin Geddis and Shane Todd, Aaron now brings his own solo show, following the sell-out success of Africa at Lavery’s Comedy Club in 2023.
Support on the night comes from Ciaran Franco, Jay Fitzsimmons and Ashley Wragg, with hosting duties handled by resident MC Peter E Davidson. Peter has appeared on The Blame Game and Live at the Sunflower with Shane Todd, performed ten shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, and written for BBC NI, Radio Ulster and Radio 4 Extra.
