This special collaboration brings together Rain of Animals - the acclaimed duo of Pepita Emmerichs (Oh Pep!) and Theodore Barnard (Wire & Wool), with American mandolin virtuoso Jacob Jolliff. Formed through a shared love of traditional and contemporary folk music, Rain of Animals blend mandolin, fiddle, guitar, and harmony vocals with influences from bluegrass, old-time, swing, and song-based traditions. Their performances are marked by rich interplay, adventurous arrangements, and warm musical storytelling.

Joining them is Jacob Jolliff, widely regarded as one of today’s leading mandolin players. A former member of Yonder Mountain String Band, he is known for his innovative approach to bluegrass and roots music through his own acclaimed Jacob Jolliff Band.

Born from spontaneous sessions in Glasgow and at the Shetland Folk Festival, this trio unites American and Celtic traditions through a shared passion for improvisation. Expect an exhilarating mix of original material and traditional tunes, delivered with virtuosity, creativity, and deep musical connection.
