Sam Davey is a prize-winning author of fantasy and speculative fiction – both short stories and novels. Her short stories have appeared in a number of anthologies, including ‘Breaking Through the Penumbra’, (Cicada Song Press, Nov 2025). Her novel ‘The Chosen Queen’ (Diversion Books/Simon &Schuster, 2025) is the first in a series of novels retelling the legends of Camelot from a feminist perspective.
Until recently, Sam worked at London’s Royal Opera House, but now devotes her time to writing and the literary world. Sam lives by the sea in East Sussex; is the founder of the Hastings Book Festival and an active member of the Hastings Writers Group.
Her new book – ‘The Sisters and the Sword’ will be published in June 2026.
