Kent-based singer-songwriter James Hodder returns to headline at The Oxted Sessions after several brilliantly received support slots.
In December, James released ‘Lucky’, a new EP building on the success of his acclaimed album ‘Wilderness Road’. Drawing from Folk and Americana traditions, ‘Lucky’ finds Hodder moving into more personal territory, offering songs rooted in reflection, gratitude and lived experience. Several tracks have already become live favourites over the past couple of years – including ‘Is It Any Wonder’ and ‘Where I Belong’. Alongside these are newly written songs for the EP, such as ‘I Don’t Know How To Quit’ and ‘Luckiest Man Alive’, the latter giving the release its title and capturing Hodder at his most reflective. The EP has already begun to gain radio support, including airplay on Richard Leader’s American Pie and the Americana UK podcast, hosted by Keith Hargreaves, further extending Hodder’s reach within the UK Americana Scene.
In 2026, the songwriter will focus on expanding his audience through live performances, with headline shows across the UK and a run of festival appearances planned throughout the year. Known for his warm, engaging delivery and emotionally honest songwriting, Hodder continues to connect with audiences.
