Big Mama's Door is known for their energetic performances and vintage inspired sound, playing a distinctive blend of 50s - style rhythm and blues, jazz, soul, and classic R & B, mixing original songs with vintage covers delivered with authentic, charismatic vocals and tight musicianship. The Group is fronted by vocalist Fiona McElroy, whose performance style has drawn comparisons to classic blues and soul singers like Etta James with a hint of Patsy Cline. Alongside Fiona, the line-up typically includes guitar, bass, piano and drums- Andy Knight (guitar) Francesca Shaw (double bass) Stephen Walsh ( piano) and Brad Shaw ( drums).
