Ed Hicks and the Hot Cow Licks perform Western Swing Jazz music featuring harmony twin fiddles and hot jazz solos. Western swing (also known as hillbilly jazz) is a form of jazz music that emerged in Texas and the South Western United States and was popular in the 1930s and 40s.
Often overlooked by conventional jazz historians, the style features jazz solos played on traditional folk and country instruments and is famous for its use of harmony twin fiddling. Expect to hear the music of Bob Wills and Milton Brown, Texas style fiddle tunes, and possibly some banjo and fiddle instrumentals that pay homage to the old time origins of the genre.
