SWEETPOOL create a hypnotic melting pot of psychedelic punk and motorik grooves. Powered by a pulsating rhythm section, e-drones, angular agit-pop guitar and bubbling synths, they simply don't bother to be bothered by anyone else’s rocking conventions. Think Can, Hawkwind, Wire hurled together with a dose of post punk sneer, joyous melodic choruses and live wig outs to melt the ear drums. Krautpunk - Prog Punk - whatever genre they aren’t, it's a wonderful whirl of excitement and totally addictive snake oil for the masses.
Sweetpool’s third album ‘3AM, A HEAD OF SNAKES’ will be officially released on March 27th on Limited Edition orange splatter Vinyl by Slow Century Records; pre-release copies will be available to purchase at the show!
GREGG MCKELLA is a singer/songwriter originally from Aylesbury and now living in Brighton. He also plays in Paradise 9, a 4-piece psych/proto-punk/space-rock band, and also with ambient dub infused combo Rubber Bus, and part of The Daevid Allen Glissando Guitar Orchestra performing the legendary seven-drone technique.
His new debut solo album, “Songs from the Underground”, released in December 2025, is a collection of songs written during his busking years in London in the 1990s. The songs vary from folksy driven to alternative indie rock, psych blues/song, Gregg has called “space-folk”.
Beyond his solo and band work, Gregg has collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists, including Nik Turner’s Inner City Unit, Mick Farren & The Portobello Allstars, Spirits Burning & Michael Moorcock, feat members of Pink Floyd, Gong, Hawkwind, Blue Öyster Cult, and many more. Gregg is now taking the album out on the road, playing many gigs and festivals in the UK and abroad.
“In summary, Songs from the Underground is a richly crafted debut that successfully blends diverse genre influences with deeply personal storytelling. Gregg McKella’s distinctive “space-folk” sound, combined with Martin Litmus’s expert production and the heartfelt lyricism throughout, marks this album as a significant contribution to the contemporary folk and psychedelic music scenes....” – JaceMediaMusic
