Club Integral Midlands Branch returns to The Edge - our wonderfully refurbished stomping ground - for a night of live music in collaboration with Surge Forward. An evening featuring three duos: Suzumeno Tears; Kamura Obscura; Zhuyang Liu & Zheng Hao; and DJ sets from Mssr G. Plus visuals by Ebrahim Nazier and nosh for sale!

Suzumeno Tears
Suzumeno Tears, a duo of Miyuki Sato on vocal and kaval, and Agatha on vocal, gut guitar and percussion, fuse a diverse musical knowledge with their unique interpretation of Minyo, Japanese folk songs. They blend Goshu Ondo, festival music from Japan’s Kansai region, with Balkan polyphonic singing and other influences from elsewhere in Japan, Bulgaria, Brazil, and the UK.

Kamura Obscura
Performed by Atsuko Kamura and Natalie Mason, Kamura Obscura features looped electronics, layered strings, surreal Japanese chanson, vocal improvisations through and the occasional roaring punk wailing.

Zhuyang Liu & Zheng Hao
Zhuyang Liu, an internationally award-winning guzheng Chinese zither player, sound artist and producer joins Zheng Hao, an improviser using electronics and electro-acoustic instruments. Their practice weaves sound, installation, theatre, text, and technologies into multi-layered sonic architectures and immersive environments featuring gritty, gnarly textures and delicate, amorphous qualities.
