Event information
ABACUS is an ambitious sextet project run by Saxophonist, Composer and Improvisor Liam Brennan. Formed in 2022, the project concept was heavily influenced by Omer Avital’s Asking No Permission featuring a 4-horn frontline. Combining elements from contemporary Jazz, Classical, post tonal music, Scandinavian Folk, the music celebrates some of the most exciting improvisors from Birmingham and London. Liam draws influences from composers John Hollenbeck and John Taylor, as well as Charles Mingus and Oliver Nelson
