Together they will play a range of jazz standards from the great American songbook, as well as visiting other styles such as Bossa Novas.
Expect to hear some new arrangements, as well as some original compositions by the band.
Issey Chivers is a London-based vocalist, composer and arranger whose sound flows effortlessly between jazz, folk, and the singer-songwriter tradition. Inspired by the voices of artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Norah Jones, Eva Cassidy and Amy Winehouse, Issey sings with a ‘tremendous range of colours’ [Northwich Guardian, 2025], a sensitivity to detail and a quiet confidence, telling stories that feel honest and full of emotion.
Dan Whieldon the winner of the Nottingham International Jazz Piano Competition is a regular on the UK Jazz club and festival scene and has also played in Belgium, Spain and Taiwan. He regularly performs with visitors to the North-West, such as Tina May, Alan Barnes, Steve Waterman and Mark Nightingale.
