This pairing is a convergence of talent from two highly distinctive British Blues artists. Having already built individual reputations, Mat Walklate and Alex Haynes have come together, drawing on the deepest roots of the blues to create fresh and relevant songs, which expand British Blues into new territory.

The collaboration between award-winning harmonica player/blues singer Mat Walklate and singer/guitarist Alex Haynes brings out the best in both artists. Taking influence from the likes of John Lee Hooker, Little Walter and R.L. Burnside the pair blend their personalities and styles to create relevant music with a vibrant core of authenticity.

Haynes studied Music Production in Newcastle then spent a dozen years in London before dividing his last three years between the capital and Sheffield. Haynes performs regularly with a longstanding residency at the Blues Kitchen Shoreditch and with frequent appearances in the UK, Europe and Moscow and festivals. He has supported artists including US R&B legend Geno Washington, UK bluesman Big Boy Bloater, and the great Bobby Rush at the Salaise Blues Festival.
