Houndsbleat is a quartet of piano, alto saxophone, guitar and drums that fuses intricate composition with ferocious group improvisation. This is music that is challenging, emotive and cerebral; demanding presence from both sides of the stage.
Channeling the intensity and rigour of the contemporary improvised music scene in Brooklyn, New York, Houndsbleat explores form as a living structure - capable of being strained, interrupted and reshaped in real time. Here, kaleidoscopic grooves, twisting contrapuntal melodies and explosive group interplay zig-zag through tightly-woven musical labyrinths; welcoming volatility and beauty in the stark.
