BARBARA MUKODA - flutes
Barbara Mukoda’s fantastical voyage to improvisation has pushed her off of her Classical music island, and across the turbulent waters of Development and Discovery to the vast expanse of the Experimental horizons.
Experimenting with silence and lyrical lines across her three instruments, Piccolo Flute, Classical Flute and Alto Flute, she utilises little to no vibrato and a clear tone as an artistic choice in this realm.
Over the recent years, Barbie has played with BBC Elstree Concert Band, Lo-Fi, The London Video Game Orchestra, Orchestra New and Queen Charlotte’s Global Orchestra, recording at Abbey Road Studios and BBC Maida Vale Studios and broadcast over Resonance FM as a member of AMM All-Stars.
Today, Barbie’s World consists of these once disparate continents as a now great musical Pangaea, joined by Passion, Courage and Imagination, eyes shining bright to the new possibilities and opportunities that await her.

Damsel Elysium (violin, cello, double bass) is a London-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and experimental sound/visual artist Damsel Elysium crafts otherworldly soundscapes that converse with nature, memory, and identity. A key voice in decolonising music conversations, Damsel releases evocative solo work and collaborates in boundary-pushing projects, treating instruments as living partners in dance-like improvisation. ROSA THEODORA - piano, marimba
Rosa Theodora (piano, marimba) is a London-based musician, improviser, facilitator, and DJ Rosa Theodora is a versatile performer whose soulful playing spans piano, marimba, synth, bass, and percussion across genres from free improvisation to psych-pop, punk-UKG, and experimental electronics. A recent graduate of SOAS University of London, she has performed at iconic venues like Cafe OTO, collaborated in large ensembles including ONe_Orchestra New (where she contributes keys and rhythmic textures), and appeared on recordings with groups like The Remote Viewers. Rosa explores prepared piano techniques, digital interventions (such as the "Sabotaging Piano" project), and interdisciplinary constraints in improvisation, often blending acoustic warmth with electronic disruption. She co-founded the marimba duo Existential Dress, infusing punk energy into percussion-driven grooves, and has played synth in bands like Noon Garden and Ello Sun. As a facilitator and thinker, Rosa is passionate about music's power to disrupt, empower, and transcend boundaries. IRIS CASLING - double bass
Iris Casling (double bass) is a Leeds-based double bassist, improviser, vocalist, and multidisciplinary artist. Iris Joan Casling is an emerging force in the UK's free improvisation and experimental music scenes. Self-described as an "improviser, double bassist, and hag," her practice centres on somatic ritualisation—embodying physical, emotional, and ritualistic elements through free improvisation, often coloured by punk energy, noise, and raw expression. Active in Leeds and York's vibrant underground, she performs in duos, trios, and larger ensembles, exploring extended techniques on double bass alongside vocal contributions that range from spoken word to intense screeches. Iris is a member of ONe_Orchestra New, bringing her deep, textural bass work to the group's inclusive large-ensemble improvisations. She has collaborated with artists such as Gaia Blandina (cello), Nika Ticciati (keys/voice), Beth Veasey (drums), and others in projects spanning jazz-adjacent improv, noise-punk outfits like Bela Spit (where she also handles vocals), and supportive roles in folk/experimental recordings. Her work appears in venues like Hyde Park Book Club, Wharf Chambers, Cafe OTO (via ONe_Orchestra New), and Resonance FM broadcasts, as well as on releases including Nico Paul's What is Lifted and Bela Spit's spit/swallow. Iris adds her visceral, grounding bass presence—full of ritual intensity and sonic depth—to half of ONe_Orchestra New for this intimate evening.

TERESA HACKEL - recorders
The recorder player TERESA HACKEL was born in Berlin and has lived and worked in Switzerland since 2005. Her focus is free improvisation, a non-idiomatic music which is invented in the moment. She is keen to search for strange and unconventional sounds on the different types of the recorder and she is inspired by contemporary compositions for this wonderful and often underestimated instrument. In her playing she values listening – there is no unnecessary sound, just the music that comes by itself.
Teresa was awarded the 3rd Prize at the Concours Nicati for interpreters of contemporary music in Bern and she took part in different Swiss premieres. In 2018 the CD Solare was released with pieces of Fausto Romitelli, in 2022 she released the CD Zustandsformen with the guitar player Karin Rüdt. She has played in several projects and ensembles, currently she is a member of the Insubordination Meta Orchestra. Regularly she plays the Cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach with the “J.S.Bach-Stiftung”, conducted by Rudolf Lutz.

SHIMA KOBAYASHI - chromatic harmonica
Shima Kobayashi is a highly accomplished Japanese-born harmonica player and improviser now based in the UK. A former World Harmonica Championship winner (1995), she trained classically with legendary teachers in Japan and the UK, including Tommy Reilly, and has built a versatile career that spans classical repertoire, new commissions, education, and free improvisation. Since settling in Britain in 2003/2004, Shima has expanded her practice into contemporary and improvised music, bringing the unique, expressive voice of the chromatic harmonica into experimental contexts and large ensemble settings. She is known for her precise technique, lyrical sensitivity, and ability to blend classical clarity with the spontaneous, textural possibilities of improvisation. Shima regularly performs in duos (often with her husband, pianist/composer Andrew Melvin), ensembles, and workshops, and is an active member of ONe_Orchestra New. She adds a fresh, singing melodic dimension and surprising harmonic colours to the ensemble’s sound world.

MEGAN STEINBERG (turntable)
Megan Steinberg (turntable) is a London-based experimental composer, sound artist, and abstract turntablist. Her practice centres on found sound, chance procedures, graphic scores, quietness, and the tactile manipulation of vinyl, creating subtle, immersive, and often unpredictable sonic landscapes. Rather than traditional DJing, Megan approaches the turntable as an abstract instrument — preparing records, manipulating speed and texture, and integrating it into free improvisation and contemporary composition. She has performed at venues and festivals including Cafe OTO, Horse Improv Club, and international events, and collaborates with a wide range of improvisers and ensembles. Megan is passionate about accessible experimental music and has been featured in conversations around equality and new approaches to sound. She brings a distinctive layer of crackle, texture, and playful unpredictability to ONe_Orchestra New’s collective improvisations.
