Vocalist/pianist Julie Lewis is a unique talent on the South-West jazz scene. Her intuitive and expressive piano playing perfectly complements her soft and soulful vocals, which together produce an honest and unpretentious performance that never fails to charm her audience with great jazz standards and fresh takes on classic soul and pop songs. Julie’s show at Jazz on the Green will be augmented by three highly-regarded South-West musicians.

Bournemouth-based Double Bassist Joe Limburn regularly accompanies Julie in the Dorset area. Joe has collaborated with many top Jazz artists over the years, including Jo Harro, Simon Allen, Dave Newton and Art Themen. He runs a monthly jazz club in Bournemouth and regularly appears as part of various line-ups both as a sideman and a bandleader at the fantastic Swanage jazz festival.
Gary Evans brings the rhythm. He is a superb drummer, always in high demand throughout the South-West and beyond. Tonight’s guests will be joined by Jazz on the green co-host Neil Burns adding some funky bebop and blues guitar to the sound.
