Enjoy a couple of blissful hours immersed in learning how to use pastels and creating a beautiful artwork to take home.
Pastels are one of the most immediate and satisfying art materials there is – vivid, tactile and wonderfully forgiving for beginners. If you've always wanted to try them, this is the perfect time to start!
In this relaxed two-hour workshop, experienced pastel artist and teacher Sally Cox, from Alton Art Society, will walk you through the basics of colour and shading, sharing practical tips and techniques you can build on long after you leave. Working from a photograph you bring along yourself, you'll create your own piece under Sally's guidance – no previous experience required.
Pastels and paper are provided. Just bring a photograph to work from, an old cloth for cleaning, and wear an old t-shirt or apron to protect your clothes.
