Tangolé present a vision of Argentine folklore through a flamenco lens. A powerful cultural melting pot where Spanish guitar, flamenco voice, dance and accordion combine to magical effect.
The project is the brainchild of charismatic flamenco singer Leo Power, from the ancient Andalusian port of Cádiz; the birthplace of one of flamenco’s most joyful and important styles, Alegría. Her idea was to bring Argentine folklore to life through the expressive language of flamenco.
The concept took shape when Leo met Ignacio Lusardi, an Argentine musician and producer, and Víctor Ramos “El Chuli”, a flamenco dancer and musician from Málaga who also plays the accordion. Together they brought to life the idea that had been in Power’s mind for years: Tangolé.
Born in Buenos Aires, Ignacio Lusardi Monteverde is a London-based guitarist and music producer who has collaborated with institutions including the British Museum, the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and has produced albums at Abbey Road Studios.
Víctor Ramos “El Chuli”, born in Antequera, Andalusia, trained as a classical pianist at the Conservatory of Music in Málaga and has performed as a flamenco dancer in tablaos across Barcelona and London.
Raised in Cádiz’s La Viña neighbourhood, Leo Power has been passionate about music since childhood. From her flamenco roots she developed a deep interest in other musical traditions including Cuban, Brazilian, African, Argentine tango, rock, jazz and boleros—an openness that shapes the sound of Tangolé.
