LUKA BLOOM
On tour following the release of his twelfth album ‘Eleven Songs’, celebrated singer-songwriter Luka Bloom makes a welcome return to The Playhouse. An electrifying live performer, Luka’s music is lyrically astute and vocally soulful, rooted in the folk tradition but calling on a wide range of influences. Rich and reflective, his concert repetoire includes both tender and dynamic material and a surprisingly eclectic selection of other people’s material.
Like many Irish families Luka comes from a family of singers and songwriters, first going on tour with older brother, Christy Moore, and subsequently with The Pogues, The Violent Femmes, Hothouse Flowers and The Cowboy Junkies. His incredibly gifted electro-acoustic guitar playing guarantees an impassioned live performance of original, poetic and melodic songs.
