VOCES8: Bach Motets Launch Concert

To mark VOCES8's second annual Friends event at St Mary-at-Hill Church, the ensemble is joining forces with members of the captivating baroque orchestra, Charivari Agréable to perform a programme celebrating the release of the vocal group's latest album of JS Bach's glorious Motets.

This collection of six motets (BWV 225 - 230) showcases Bach's undeniable brilliance. The composer's compelling choice of texts paired with his extraordinary use of compositional techniques uniquely reflects the parallels between his faith and his art.

VOCES8, inspired by Bach's genius, communicates this glorious music with characteristic passion and exuberance.

You now have the opportunity to experience live a selection of the motets from this breathtaking collection in a programme which will also include music composed by Bach's contemporaries for solo Viola da Gamba and Chamber Organ. All this in the serene and enchanting setting of a candlelit Wren church followed by a glass of wine for that elegant finishing touch.
