Event Information
Join us to remember Andy Rourke with a festival in his name. With special guests, live music, fond memories and a funky disco, #AllAboutAndy will mark the bass icon's significant contribution to The Smiths and beyond, on his one year anniversary.
Live music will be provided by:
"ROURKE" - a collaboration of musicians playing the best of Andy, from The Smiths and Morrissey to Sandie Shaw and Sinead O’Connor. Featuring Andy's former bandmate with Morrissey Andrew Paresi drums as well as members of 'Sadie' the band that supported Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce on their US tour with Specter.
SMITHS UTD - Lincoln's celebrated tribute to The Smiths bringing the live dimension to Smiths classics.
Inspired DJ sets from Manchester’s LOUD AND CLEAR and RUSTY SPANNER will provide the funky disco til 3am driven by Andy's unique bass sound.
Friday: In discussion with Phil and Chris Rourke, Andy's brothers. Saturday: In discussion with a surprise guest and former colleague of Andy's.
Singers include Keeley Moss, Jenny Drag and John Robb plus two other incredible headliners to be announced here on Sunday 7th April.
Proceeds from the event will go to The Christie Cancer Charity, as chosen by The Rourke family.
The Festival will be hosted by author and broadcaster Julie Hamill.
