Event Information
The “In The City” walking tour takes you on a personal wander of London’s West End to celebrate and highlight the many Mod, Punk and Rock and Roll landmarks in the area. Featuring heavily on The Jam, whilst taking in The 100 Club, David Bowie, The Style Council, Carnaby Street, Ronnie Scott’s, The Small Faces, Sex Pistols, Solid Bond Studios, The Flamingo, The Who, The Marquee and many other hotspots within the 3-mile walk.
The knowledgeable and friendly tour guides will share their stories and insights into many of the artists and buildings that make up the tour.
Learn where The Jam recorded their albums, “In The City” and “The Gift”, and their last single, “Beat Surrender”, as well all The Style Council’s output. Also, have your photo taken where the single sleeve shoots happened.
Get the lowdown on Carnaby Street through the ages, see where David Bowie shot the Ziggy Stardust sleeve and have a coffee at Soho's world famous Bar Italia.
We meet at 9.45am on the corner of Stanhope Place and Bayswater Road opposite Hyde Park and the talk/walk starts at 10.00am sharp.
This exciting and lively medium-paced walk takes approximately two hours and 10,000 steps.
Each walk is limited to 12 people to give each walker a more personal experience but also to ease the group through the West End and Soho because it can get busy in places.
We finish at O’Neill’s on Wardour Street, the former site of The Flamingo and WAG Club, for a well-earned hot or cold drink at around midday.
Tickets cost £22.00 from wegottickets.com and are limited to 4 per person.
· Any under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.
· Not wheelchair accessible
