HERE COMES THE WEEKEND!
23RD, 24TH, 25TH MAY 2025
Woking F.C.
Here Comes The Weekend! is returning to Woking FC for its third year and we’re very excited to present the following acts and speakers.
The weekend opens on Friday evening with Woking’s wonderful The Special Guests, led by Enzo Esposito, formerly of Squire. Headlining are new R’N’B sensations The Hornets, one of the freshest and vibrant live bands currently out there.
Saturday afternoon features in conversation with journalist and broadcaster Aaqil Ahmed, the organisers Nicky Weller and Stuart Deabill alongside Steve Rowland. They’ll be discussing their new upcoming book, Decade. This will be followed by the hugely competitive Pop Quiz, where you form teams to win sought after exclusive prizes.
And on Saturday evening, a real special! To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Paul Weller’s double million seller, Stanley Road, Daniel Ash of Teenage Waitress has assembled a fantastic band to perform the album in full, along with some B-Sides from the era!
Sunday afternoon features a Classic Album Playback hosted by Detail editor Claire Mahoney and this will be followed by Mono Media Films Mark Baxter and Lee Cogswell in conversation with Joe Dwyer. Bax and Lee will be discussing their work with Paul on Long Hot Summers – The Story of The Style Council and various videos, as well as other projects.
Sunday evening - music comes from the highly talented Stax Pistols! Imagine Booker T and the MG’s covering a whole host of punk and new wave anthems and you’re in the room!
And headlining - From The Jam!
They will be blowing the roof off the old clubhouse in style!
As part of the weekend tradition, they’ll be Tufty Tours! Steve Carver and his pal Sam Molnar take a coach load of PW acolytes around the Woking area to places of significant interest and haunts from Paul’s youth, as well as places The Jam rehearsed and played, before hitting the charts.
They’ll be a scooter rideout on Sunday morning led by Richie from Scooted and Booted, and he’ll also be DJ each day. We’ll also have football on in the Geoff Chappell lounge as they’ll be play off matches and the last games of the Premier League season.
We’re extending the stall area and photographer Lawrence Watson will be back with his amazing archive of photos for sale.
And we still have more acts to be announced!
There are both indoor and outdoor bars, food vans, outdoor seating, free parking and free overnight secure parking for scooters and motorbikes. We also have facilities for Motorhomes but please contact us first, as these are limited.
