Event Information
By The Blue Bridge is a new three-day festival of music and art on the Arts Barge in York.
It is running from the 16th to the 18th of May.
The opening night, Friday the 16th, is a “Late-Night-Show-Style” musical showcase. It will be hosted by Sir Dicky Benson and feature a number of shorter performances and interviews with the musical acts. Doors at 6:45, show starts at 7:20, with a 30 minute interval, and is in theatre format - so early arrival is necessary.
Friday’s acts include: Pascallion, ish, Jarmouse, Gabbie Lord, Si Paton and The Wreckliners
The Saturday daytime will feature a range of different workshops - these will run from 11am - 2pm. These will include Water Poetry with Becca Drake, Digital Plotting with Des Clarke and a Sound Workshop from a collective from the Hague. A range of musical acts will continue the Saturday proceedings from 3pm until late.
Saturday’s acts include: Sinead Una, Rowan & Friends, Captain Starlet, Gaia Blandina, Slagroom, Des Clarke, Gabriella Hunzinger and The Rattlers
The theme for the Sunday is ‘folky and weird’, and this is best exemplified by headliners Milkweed who blend guitar, banjo and vocals with cut and paste tape extracts. It will also feature a ‘reverse headline’ from local legends, Bull in a stripped back format - opening the show at 2:30pm. There’ll also be an open mic from 12-2pm.
Sunday’s acts include: Milkweed, Bull, Oli, We Are Hannah, Mugwort, Kirk, Big Rain in The Morning and The Caterpillars.
