About Nick Smart
Nick Smart is one of the UK’s most respected jazz trumpeters, bandleaders, and educators. Known for his warm tone and imaginative playing, he brings together deep jazz roots with a contemporary and melodic style.
As Head of Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, Nick has worked with many leading international artists, including Kenny Wheeler, Stan Sulzmann, John Hollenbeck, and Dave Holland. His acclaimed album Remembering Nick Drake highlights his distinctive approach to interpretation and arrangement.
Nick Smart remains an influential figure on the British jazz scene, celebrated for both his musicianship and his dedication to supporting new generations of jazz talent.
