About Josephine Davies:
Josephine Davies is an award-winning British saxophonist, composer, and bandleader recognised for her melodic, inventive, and expressive sound. Winner of the 2019 Parliamentary Jazz Award for Instrumentalist of the Year, she leads several acclaimed projects, including her improvisation-driven trio Satori and the large-scale Ensō Ensemble. Her music blends jazz with classical and folk influences, shaped by her Shetland heritage and her interest in Japanese philosophy. Josephine’s work as both a performer and composer has earned her widespread respect across the UK jazz scene.
