We’re delighted to welcome the fantastic tenor saxophonist Simon Spillett, accompanied by Andy Cleyndert on bass, Eric Ford on drums, and Soner Ersen on piano.

About Simon Spillett:
Simon Spillett is a highly respected British tenor saxophonist celebrated for his powerful sound, deep swing, and dedication to the bebop and hard bop traditions. Strongly influenced by the legacy of Tubby Hayes, he has become one of the UK’s foremost interpreters of straight-ahead jazz. Over a career spanning more than twenty-five years, he has earned major accolades including the BBC Jazz Award for Rising Star and the British Jazz Award for Best Tenor Saxophonist. He performs widely at leading jazz venues and festivals, and his playing is known for its energy, lyricism, and commanding presence. Beyond performance, Simon is also a respected writer and jazz historian, best known for his acclaimed biography of Tubby Hayes, The Long Shadow of the Little Giant, along with extensive contributions to jazz literature that have helped document and champion the British jazz tradition.
