Ian McNabb is one of Liverpool’s finest singer-songwriters and a true cult figure of British music. Rising to prominence in the 1980s as the frontman and creative force behind The Icicle Works, he delivered era-defining hits such as 'Love Is a Wonderful Colour' and earned a reputation for soaring melodies, powerful vocals and poetic lyricism.

Since then, McNabb has carved out a celebrated and enduring solo career, releasing a string of critically acclaimed albums including Truth and Beauty (1993), Head Like a Rock (1994), Merseybeast (1996), The Gentleman Adventurer (2002), Little Episodes (2012) and Star Smile Strong (2017), among many others.

Over the years he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including members of Crazy Horse, R.E.M., and Mike Scott of The Waterboys. Cementing his status as a respected artist’s artist his partnerships have included time performing on bass with Ringo Starr’s band in 2002 and working with legendary upright-bassist Danny Thompson on the 1998 solo album A Party Political Broadcast On Behalf of the Emotional Party.
