Ash Arts Jazz Jam Session

Event Information

The first Monday of each month starting at 7.30pm. Each session will open with a couple numbers from the house rhythm section before they invite guests to join them, and the jam session begins. Admission is £8 or £5 or £3 (or free if you need it to be). This goes towards paying the professional musicians in the house band.

Come and rinse off your dusty Christmas chops or just come and have a listen 🙂

Jesse Molins - Guitar

Everyone is welcome to come and play or sing at the session. If you’d like to play, introduce yourself to the host, Jesse Molins, who’ll decide on a running order. You should have at least one tune prepared that you know well. If it’s not a standard, or if you need to do it in a different key from the original, please bring lead sheets or chord charts in the right key for the rhythm section and other players who might join you.

For 1 December, alongside Jesse, the house band is:
Coach York - Drums
Marcus Vergette - Bass
Will Paley - Sax
This line up is a new band who'll play 3 or 4 tunes at the beginning which are “loosely based on the West Coast thing, a la Paul Desmond/Gerry Mulligan. With contrapuntal interwoven lines from Jesse and Will”.
